JESUS WASHING THE DISCIPLES FEET- WHAT DOES IT MEAN

John 13:14-15
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

Every time I try to pray for my enemies the Holy Spirit tells me don’t pray for them go wash their feet.  Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as an example of service.

True humility is service and that service should not necessarily be directed to the people you know or you love but strangers. Washing someone’s feet mean being submissive, helping them, providing spiritual leadership and being a good steward.

What is the meaning of foot washing to us Christians?
Foot washing is a sign of servant hood
A servant is not greater than His master nor is He who is sent greater than you. Jesus did not come to be served by others but He came to serve you. If you see a need in someone’s life you should help them out.  You should say if there is a need that I can meet is that assignment for me to meet. You should not say am too important for this. God wants you to stop and help.

Foot washing is a sign of humility
Philippians 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.

Foot washing means being able to cover someone’s sins
Washing someone’s feet is a sign of support

It signifies true spiritual humility. Helping someone in his weakness or failure
Galatians 6:1
Doing Good to All
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

Proverbs 17:9
Whoever would foster love covers over an offense,
but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.

Serving most of the time is not about the action it’s about the attitude and giving glory to God. It’s not about what you do as service is who you are.

JESUS, THE GREATEST MAN IN HISTORY

The greatest man in history was called Jesus He had no servants yet they called Him Master. He had no degree yet they called Him Teacher. He had no medicine yet they called Him Healer. He had no army yet Kings feared Him. He committed no crime yet He was crucified. He was buried in a tomb yet He still lives. A-Agree with God. M-Move with God. E-End with God. N-Never doubt God.

SET YOUR EYES ON JESUS

2 Corithians 4:18 For our light and temporary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. As days go by, through daily life events, I have come to realize that God uses suffering, struggle, lack, sickness, pain, weakness not to harm us but to bring us closer to Him. Most people focus on blaming God and fail to see the Jesus in the struggle, the Jesus in the storm, the Jesus just like Peter telling us, " Walk, have faith". The bible says that seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. A person who is saved thus becomes like a bird, who has to know all that is above that is the spirit world before he can posses what is beneath. God wants us to know that even in difficult times He will always bring us through and that if we seek Him with all our might ...
